About The Author

Gean Viriri

Gean Viriri is a UK-based psychotherapist with decades of clinical experience working with individuals and professionals navigating emotional life at work, trauma, and identity. Trained in CBT, EMDR, and integrative practice, her work is rooted in long-term therapeutic engagement rather than theory alone. These books emerged from years of listening to clients, colleagues, and her own lived experience within professional spaces. She observed how emotional triggers in the workplace, early survival patterns, and unmet needs shape workplace behaviour and emotional regulation at work. Decoding Workplace Emotions and its companion workbook were written as a workplace emotional intelligence resource, supporting self-leadership at work through internal awareness and practice. Parts in the Room arose from her experience as a Black African therapist, reflecting on race, power, and silence in professional therapy spaces. Her writing invites reflection, responsibility, and deeper listening.
